Our Story
We are a husband and wife team creating unique Barn Door and Wall designs. We love using a variety of woods and materials and create a one of a kind look in all of our designs.
You may notice that we also love clean lines and geometric designs. That comes from Candi’s background in mathematics. Yeah, she’s a nerd with a BS and MS in Mathematics from Cal State Long Beach. Her strong background is balanced with Fernando’s extensive knowledge in the wood industry.
Fernando was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil and ran a door manufacturing business that supplied to companies around the world. The operation included everything from reforestation to manufacturing the final product with the highest quality standards and wood engineering knowledge. His BS in Business and experience in a global market has continued to strengthen Urban Wall Design.
Urban Wall Design was started by Candi in our garage in 2015. As the business grew, so did her tool collection. It was the router that got Fernando excited to start building and we still use it to this day, with the several other routers we’ve bought since.
Many people ask how we are able to work together and it’s probably our favorite part of our company… building it together with a different perspective.
